Spring Break is over, and Alice went back to school today. I was a little sad about it. We had so much fun just hanging out at home last week. Both kids were so happy playing uninterrupted, and I loved not rushing around to school and activities.
I was expecting this morning to be rough because we've been out of the routine for a week, but it went very smoothly. Alice did not argue about getting dressed or about getting her hair brushed- a small miracle.
In the mornings while the kids eat breakfast, I get a few minutes on the computer. This morning I was sitting in the computer room and Alice was talking to herself in the kitchen. She constantly talks, even when no one is listening. I usually tune her out while I'm on the computer, but I heard her say, "L-O-F-T, this says Loft. T-A-Y-L-O-R this says Taylor" She was reading the Ann Taylor Loft bag I had hanging on the door! She has become a little reader. I attribute this to Super Why. It's such a well designed show. A little while later I heard her reading other words from the newspaper. Yep, she loves the morning paper, just like her dad.
Today was a very rainy day. This is her in her rain gear-so cute!
Here's what was for lunch today on Muffin Tin Monday. The theme was rainbow, but I forgot about that-OOPHS!
Our afternoon project was a huge hit today. I found this idea at Ordinary Life Magic. We had bird races all afternoon and then again after dinner when Brad got home. Will laughed so had when we started shaking the birds.
Our house has been overtaken by Asian Lady Beetles. For the last few weeks, I have probably collected 30-40 a day. The bug guy said that these are they are the hardest bug to get rid of, and I believe it. Anyway, Alice loves using her magnifying glass, so we decided to take a closer look at the beetles this afternoon.
Little William is WALKING! It has been a long time coming, but his primary mode of movement is now walking.
When I unload the dishwasher, I have to find something to keep William busy, or he will climb up on the door of the dishwasher and go for the sharp knives. Tonight I gave him the sippey cups and the lids. He was completely occupied by this. I watched him put lids on and take lids off until he had the correct, mathcing lids on each cup. I was pretty impressed with the little guy!
Happy kids...
You may be thinking to yourself that these pictures were taken on different days due to the number of different outfits Alice is wearing, but that's JUST A DAY IN THE LIFE of Alice!
