Yogurt Cup Challenge

Michelle from Her Cup Overfloweth asked for ideas of what to do with all those empty yogurt cups. During the summer, I save them and so the kids can play with them at the wading pool, but during the winter I just recycle them. That's why I'm a little late getting to my idea. It took my daughter a week to eat enough yogurt to have the needed amount of cups. With Valentine's Day coming up, I decided to make a flower delivery box. Please excuse the first few pictures, I didn't have the camera on auto-focus, OOOPHS! Here's how I did it...
First, I covered a shallow box with white paper.

Then I traced around the yogurt cups and used an exacto knife to cup out circles.

Next, Alice decorated the box with heart stickers.

Then, I attached ribbon to the front and back. (I found it at Target in the dollar section). Next, I poked small holes in the bottom of the yogurt cups so the flowers would stay in. The flowers are old silk flowers I had in the basement.

To complete the costume I made a paper hat and attached a flower.

Alice has been playing flower delivery girl all afternoon. I was a fun project for both of us! If all else fails, just use your cups in the bathtub for pouring or save them for the sandbox when the weather allows!
